The aim of the workshop is to acquaint young theatre researchers and creators with types of movement techniques different from what in Europe is commonly associated with African dance. All parts of body are under strict control, the actor steps carefully - sneaks, gestures are spatially condensed and breath softened; these are the typical features of the way hunter moves, also in dance.
Dance steps and actions presented during the workshop have been selected from among ritual ceremonies of the hunter brotherhood. The workshop consists of practical lessons and a theoretical commentary presenting historical, cultural and social context of the practiced movement techniques.
